Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 28, 2026

Party Book is a community platform built on trust. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language β€” no walls of legalese.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly and information generated by your use of the platform.

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you are an event organizer connecting a Stripe account, we also collect your organization name and the details required by Stripe for identity verification (handled by Stripe directly β€” more on that below).

Ticket purchases. When you buy a ticket, we collect your name and email. Phone number is optional and only collected if you choose to provide it. We do not store credit card numbers β€” payment details are handled entirely by Stripe.

Event content. If you create or co-host an event, we store the event information you provide: title, description, date, location, ticket price, and any images or PDFs you upload.

Usage information. We collect basic technical information when you use the platform, such as your browser type, IP address, pages visited, and referring URLs. This helps us keep the platform running and improve the experience. We do not use advertising tracking pixels or third-party analytics services.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve Party Book:

  • Create and manage your account and any organizations or events you are part of
  • Process ticket purchases and send you confirmation emails and payment receipts
  • Send event reminders and relevant notifications about events you have registered for
  • Send invitations when an organization administrator adds you as a member
  • Respond to your questions and support requests
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms
  • Improve and debug the platform

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for behavioral advertising or share it with data brokers.

3. Payment Processing

All payment processing on Party Book is handled by Stripe. We use Stripe Connect so that funds flow directly from ticket buyers to the organization running the event.

When you enter payment information at checkout, that information is sent directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection. Party Book never sees or stores your full card number, CVV, or bank account details.

If you are an organization administrator setting up payouts, Stripe will collect identity and bank account information from you directly as part of their Know Your Customer (KYC) process. That information is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

We do retain a record of transaction amounts and ticket purchase history so that we can show you your purchase history and so that organizations can track their fundraising.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We share your information only with the services necessary to operate Party Book. Here is who they are and what they do:

Stripe β€” Payment processing

Processes all ticket payments and manages payouts to organizations. When you buy a ticket, your name and email are shared with Stripe to fulfill the transaction.

Resend β€” Transactional email

Sends you ticket confirmations, event reminders, payment receipts, and invitations. Resend receives your email address and name to deliver these messages.

Google Cloud Storage β€” File storage

Stores event images and any PDFs uploaded by event organizers. Files are stored securely and accessed only when needed to display event content.

Neon β€” Database hosting

Our PostgreSQL database is hosted on Neon, a cloud database provider. Your account data, event data, and ticket records are stored here.

We also share information with event organizers as necessary. When you buy a ticket to an event, the organizer of that event can see your name, email, and the tickets you purchased. This is so they can manage attendance and communicate with attendees about their event.

We may disclose your information if required by law, such as in response to a valid legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.

5. Cookies and Sessions

Party Book uses cookies for one primary purpose: keeping you logged in. When you sign in, we create a session cookie that lets the platform recognize you as you navigate between pages. This cookie is essential for the platform to function and is not used for tracking.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts (such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel). The cookies on Party Book are first-party and limited to session management.

You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies, but doing so will prevent you from staying logged in and some features of the platform will not work correctly.

6. Data Storage and Security

Party Book is a US-based service. Your data is stored on servers located in the United States.

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data in transit, access controls to limit who within our infrastructure can access personal data, and working with reputable, security-focused infrastructure providers.

No system is perfectly secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the service. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes (such as financial transaction records).

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have choices about your information:

  • Access. You can view the information associated with your account by logging in and visiting your account settings.
  • Correction. You can update your name, email, and other account details at any time from your account settings.
  • Deletion. You can request that we delete your account and personal data by emailing us at support@ourpartybook.com. We will process your request within 30 days. Note that we may retain certain transaction records as required by law.
  • Email communications. Transactional emails (ticket confirmations, receipts, and reminders for events you have registered for) are necessary to provide the service and cannot be individually opted out of while your account is active. If you no longer wish to receive any email from us, you may request account deletion.

If you are located in California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information). To exercise these rights, contact us at support@ourpartybook.com.

8. Children's Privacy

Party Book is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The platform is designed for adults β€” parents, teachers, community organizers, and event hosts β€” who manage and attend events on behalf of their communities.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@ourpartybook.com and we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the platform evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the β€œLast updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email.

Your continued use of Party Book after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you may delete your account by contacting us.
